Poem #45 - Where Darkness Meets the Light

While teaching my classes about Mental Health First Aid, I try to emphasise that "it's just a conversation that shows you care."

This is a poem about two people where one reaches out to the other to see if they are ok.

It's nothing to be scared of, it's just a conversation.

Where Darkness Meets the Light

In shadows deep, where whispers tread,

A topic heavy, hearts widespread.

A guiding light,

In conversations dark, it takes its flight.

A tender touch, a caring word,

In the realm where silence is often heard.

A soothing balm,

Navigating waters, calm.

Through verses raw, emotions blend,

A conversation where hearts may mend.

Suicide's weight, a heavy cloak,

But in dialogue, hope's words spoke.

Compassion blooms in each exchange,

Mental health, a spectrum, not estranged.

An embrace, a lifeline cast,

Breaking silence, erasing the past.

In poems woven, threads of grace,

An ode to courage, in every face.

Let words be bridges, minds unite,

In the realm where darkness meets the light.
