Poem #52 - The Demons Whispered In My Ear

Updated: Apr 14

Again this one is about overcoming adversity, whether that be a mental illness, or anything else. It does not mattter what it is! If you let the demons win, we all lose.

Inspired by the original quote by Adharanand Finn "The Devil whispered in my ear: You're not strong enough to withstand the storm. I whispered back: I am the storm!"

We all have demons, please don't let them win.

Whatever you are going through will pass. Remember the only people that burn in hell are the ones that stop there, so if you're going through hell, keep going!

The Demons Whispered In My Ear

"The Demons whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

In the heart's abyss, where shadows loom,

Adversity's grip, a relentless gloom.

Through trials fierce, where hope seems torn,

I whispered back: ‘I am the storm."

"The Demons whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

In the battlefield of shattered dreams,

Where despair reigns and silence screams.

In the midst of chaos, a spirit reborn,

I whispered back: ‘I am the storm."

"The Demons whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

Amidst the wreckage of a shattered heart,

Where pain's embrace tears worlds apart.

Through the agony, resilience sworn,

I whispered back: ‘I am the storm."

"The Demons whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

In the crucible of loss and strife,

Where tears carve rivers in the night.

With each sunrise, a new day's form,

I whispered back: ‘I am the storm."

"The Demons whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

Through valleys low and mountains steep,

Where shadows dance and secrets keep.

With every step, a path adorned,

I whispered back: ‘I am the storm."

"The Demons whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

In the face of doubt, and fear's embrace,

Where courage kindles, finding grace.

In the tempest's eye, a spirit sworn,

I whispered back: ‘I am the storm."

"The Demons whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

For in the crucible of adversity's might,

Where darkness wanes and dawn takes flight.

In every struggle, a strength is born,

"The Demons may have whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’ I yelled back: ‘I am the fucking storm!"
