This is probably the poem I like the most out of all of them. (so far) This was written at a time when there was a lot arguing between people, that was all based on the colour of their skin.
So here's my take on it - we all one race - the human race. We all inhabit this one beautiful planet. Life would be much easier if we could just accept that we all uniquely different, but at the same time we are all the same.
We are women,
We are men,
We are neither,
We are none.
We are Gay,
We are straight,
We are lesbian,
We are trans,
We are asexual,
We are everything in between,
We are none.
We are Christian,
We are Muslim,
We are Buddhist,
We are Jewish,
We are none,
We are black,
We are white,
We are Asian,
We are Indian,
We are European,
We are African,
We are different
We are the same,
We are one,
We are none,
We are people under the same sun.
We are the many shades of skin and hue,
The diverse tapestry of red, brown, and blue,
We are the languages, each unique, each spoken,
A symphony of voices, countless hearts awoken.
We are the nations, flags unfurled so wide,
A world map of stories, side by side,
We are the genders, an endless spectrum vast,
Every identity, free to be, to last.
We are the lovers, in all forms and grace,
In every affection, every warm embrace,
We are the believers, in gods and none,
In faith, in science, under the same sun.
We are the dreamers, in different shades of night,
In the vastness of hope, in the face of fright,
We are the seekers of knowledge, ever bold,
In wisdom, in wonder, in stories yet untold.
We are the humans, so wonderfully diverse,
In unity, our strength, our universe,
In this inclusive tapestry, hand in hand, we’ve begun,
To celebrate the truth: we are one, and we are none.
In a world of infinite diversity, we stand,
Hand in hand, united, a compassionate band,
For within each soul, a shared humanity,
We embrace the truth: we are one, in unity.
From every corner of this vast, spinning sphere,
Different faces, voices, cultures appear,
Yet beneath the surface, we’re kindred, the same,
In the tapestry of life, we share a common name.
Let the rainbow of our colours paint the sky,
In unity, our strength will never die,
No matter the label, the tag, the name,
Together in this world, we’re all part of the same flame.
Regardless of the paths we choose to trod,
Inclusion is the heartbeat, the music, the nod,
No matter your story, your background, your past,
We’re bound by a thread that’s destined to last.
In the symphony of life, let’s harmonize,
With empathy, compassion, and open eyes,
For it’s the mosaic of differences, you see,
That makes us strong, resilient, and forever free.
In the dance of existence, hand in hand we sway, Inclusion is the rhythm, guiding our way,
So let this message echo, far and wide,
In unity, together, we’ll conquer the tide.
Inclusive hearts, let’s embrace, let’s ignite,
The brilliance of diversity, our guiding light.
In the tapestry of humanity, let love be spun,
For we are all under the same sun, and we are none, and We are one,
We just are...
